Greetings!
I would personally like to welcome you to the new and improved Drury High School website. Drury High School is continually trying to improve our technology in order to make it easier to access everything in the school, whether it is teachers, schedules, events, etc.
First I would like to introduce myself. I am Bill Bryce, the newly appointed Dean of Students. I was born and raised in North Adams and graduated from Drury High School. I went to Western Connecticut State University. While there I played football all four years and graduated in 1993 with a BA in Sociology/ Anthropology.
Upon completing college I began to work at Hillcrest Educational Centers, Inc. at their Center Campus in Lenox, MA. This was a residential facility dealing the all the kids that regular schools could not handle. I worked my way from Child Care Worker to Teacher’s Aide to Teacher and eventually to Education Director. During the six and a half years I worked at Hillcrest I earned my Master Degree in Education from MCLA in 2000.
I began working at Drury in 2000 as a Special Education Teacher. I also coached football for the first four years I taught here. I taught until last year when I became the Program Coordinator of Special Education in the building. This led me to take the position of Dean of Students this year. It is challenging position I look forward to tackling.
The position of Dean of Students generally is looked at in a negative light because most interactions you have with student generally tend to be a negative experience for them because they are getting in trouble and usually are receiving some kind of consequences. Although discipline is a major part of the Dean of Students job there are several other responsibilities. I encourage you to look at the list at to the website to discover all of them.I encourage you to utilize the school’s web page to try to answer any of questions. It will have policies, regulations, as well as schedules and events listed for you. If there is ever a problem with your son or daughter regardinganything, even if it doesn’t have anything to do with discipline, please contact me at the school by calling 662-3240 ext. 2111. The Administration, Faculty and Staff of Drury High School are committed to making our students high school years successful. We are hopeful , every one of ours students is able to have a rewarding and fullfilling high school career, which leads them to become successful citizens.
Sincerely,
William A. Bryce, Dean of Students
